Secretary Schwab Announces Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission Appointee

TOPEKA – Today, Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab announced the appointment of Beau Jackson, of Fairway, as his appointee to the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission. As per state law, the Secretary of State is allotted one appointee to serve on this significant commission.

Jackson assumes the position previously held by Kyle Krull whose tenure on the commission began in 2011 and expired January 31. “I am thankful for Kyle’s many years of service on the commission,” Schwab said. “He provided continuity for the commission, and I appreciate his commitment to serving in this role.”

Jackson is a partner at Husch Blackwell, where he leads the firm’s international trade litigation practice, with a particular emphasis on helping U.S. manufacturers combat imported products that infringe intellectual property rights. Jackson also advises clients on a variety of international business issues and serves as outside general counsel to many Kansas-based companies. Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, he spent nine years with a top-ranked Washington, DC law firm. Originally from Andover and a proud double graduate of KU, Jackson is civically active in the state, including through service on the boards of directors of various Kansas organizations.
