In January 2003, the secretary of state appointed the
Kansas Election Advisory Council to comply with Section 255. The advisory
council is a committee of appropriate individuals who met on a monthly
basis (February through May, 2003) to assist with development of the state plan.
Secretary Thornburgh is chairman of the group and each member of the advisory council
serves on one of four subcommittees.
