In addition to many legislative duties, we are responsible for overseeing the administration of all national and state elections in Kansas. Elections are the cornerstone of democracy, and we are committed to protecting the sanctity of the democratic process.

As president of the National Association of Secretaries of State in 2001, Secretary Thornburgh helped draft and pass the Help America Vote Act of 2002. This package of reforms will ensure meaningful access to the democratic process for all Kansans and all United States citizens.

Our site includes information on voter registration, candidate filing and campaign finances, just to name a few. We also include some election statistics and information on past elections.
