This section provides information about national and state elections, which are held in even-numbered years.
In the spring of odd-numbered years, the counties conduct elections for city and local school board positions.
One special type of election is the presidential preference primary.
This election is scheduled by state law for each presidential election year. To date, Kansas has held only two presidential
preference primaries: in 1980 and 1992.
This is a list of presidential electors selected by each recognized political party and independent presidential candidate and certified to the Secretary of State's office. The electors representing the candidate who receives the greatest number of popular votes will meet in Topeka on December 15, 2008 to cast electoral votes for president and vice president.
This is a list write-in candidates for president and vice president who have filed Affidavits of Write-in Candidacy pursuant to K.S.A. 25-305b. Write-in votes for these candidates will be tallied and reported with the official election results.
