Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh is one of only four state officers authorized by the Kansas constitution and elected state-wide every four years. With his vision and leadership, our office serves all Kansans by performing numerous statutory duties related to the administration of statewide elections, business entities and the uniform commercial code. The Kansas constitution created our office, but statutes define our daily duties.

Although our duties are many and diverse, we pledge ourselves to provide great customer service to all of our customers. And, everyone is our customer. A journalist once described our office as "the least complicated, most accessible agency in state government." That quote now is our daily mission.

Emerging technology gives us new tools to provide great customer service that is simple and immediately accessible. We are excited to be active participants in the electronic government and business world, and we invite you to join us by transacting your government business in our Web site.

After you visit our Frequently Asked Questions page, please let us contact us about how we may serve you better.
