TOPEKA, KS – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh today appointed Elizabeth Ensley to a fifth full term as the Shawnee County election commissioner. The ceremony took place at the Shawnee County Election Office. Ensley will serve a four-year term in office.
COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONER
“During Elizabeth’s time as commissioner, our election system has undergone a number of significant changes. As the process continues to evolve, she has shown great leadership at both the state and national level, while also working to tailor the changes to best serve the unique needs of the citizens of Shawnee County,” said Thornburgh.
Ensley was first appointed by then Secretary of State Bill Graves on January 13, 1992 to fill an unexpired term. Since then, she has been re-appointed four times. Her last appointment was by Thornburgh in 2006.
