THORNBURGH TO CONVENE STATE BOARD OF CANVASSERS
TOPEKA, KS – Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh will convene a meeting of the State Board of Canvassers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008, in the Secretary of State’s office, Memorial Hall, second floor. The board will meet to certify the results of the primary election.
The board is defined by statute and comprised of Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh, Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Attorney General Steve Six. Governor Sebelius will be represented by Sally Howard, Chief Counsel to the Office of the Governor, and General Six will be represented by Mary Feighny, Assistant Attorney General.
Upon concluding the canvass, the primary election results will be deemed official and available to the public.
