TOPEKA, KS – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh struck the gavel at noon today, officially concluding the filing period for United States Senate and House of Representatives, Kansas Senate and House of Representatives, even-numbered State Board of Education members, elected judicial, county, and township offices and precinct committeeman and committeewoman for the August 5, 2008 primary.

In total, 350 individuals – including 154 Democrats and 196 Republicans – have filed to run for a state-level office.
