THORNBURGH SWEARS-IN WYANDOTTE COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONER
KANSAS CITY , KS- Today, Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh appointed Bruce Newby to a second term as the Wyandotte County election commissioner.
“Commissioner Newby came into the position at a very important time in election reform. With only months left before the 2006 election cycle, he was able to step in and complete the changes brought about by the Help America Vote Act in a timely and professional manner. I am confident that he will continue to do great work for the people of Wyandotte County and the state of Kansas ,” said Thornburgh.
Newby was first appointed by Secretary Thornburgh on April 21, 2006 to fill an unexpired position. He will serve a four-year term in office.
