STATE OBJECTIONS BOARD TO MEET
Topeka, KS - Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh will convene a meeting of the State Objections Board at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2004, in the Secretary of State's office, Memorial Hall second floor.
The board will meet to review an objection filed by Mr. Horace Edwards. Mr. Edwards filed a petition to be an independent candidate for United States Senator. The Secretary of State's office declared Mr. Edwards' petition invalid as it did not contain the required number of signatures.
The board is defined by statute and comprised of Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh, Lieutenant Governor John Moore and Attorney General Phill Kline.
