THORNBURGH TO
PARTICIPATE IN TORCH RUN
Topeka, KS – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh will participate in the 2004 Law Enforcement Torch Run Ceremony at the Johnson County Courthouse in Olathe at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1. The Torch Run benefits Special Olympics of Kansas. Thornburgh serves as the 2004 honorary chairperson for the Torch Run.
The Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run will take place between Tuesday, June 1 and Friday, June 4. Approximately 500 law enforcement officers from around the state will participate in the run. Runs will be held throughout the state with the Final Leg being held in Wichita on the evening of June 4. The Final Leg will begin at City Hall in Wichita at approximately 7:00 p.m. and will conclude at the Special Olympics Kansas Summer Games Opening Ceremony at Wichita State University at approximately 8:30 p.m.
