NEW TOUCH SCREEN ELECTRONIC VOTING
SYSTEM WELL RECEIVED BY STATE FAIR GOERS

Topeka, KS – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh today announced the state fair opinion poll was a success. Participation in this year’s opinion poll was up by nearly 40% from last year’s turnout.

“I am pleased with the number of fair goers that participated in the state fair opinion poll,” stated Thornburgh. “The Help America Vote Act of 2002 requires that states incorporate electronic voting systems similar to the one used at the state fair. The new system is required to be in use for the 2006 presidential election.”
